Who We Are

True Collars - Helping Homeless Pets

True Collars:

True Collars is a privately run organization in Arizona whose simple mission it is to help homeless pets.  We are not 501(c) registered and we do not accept donations.  We help existing animal welfare agencies and shelters to facilitate rescues.

What We Do:

We photograph dogs weekly at in the nation's second largest county that intakes homeless animals - Maricopa Couny Animal Care and Control and, specifically, its west side facility in Phoenix.  Our ultimate goal is to circulate their faces far and wide in an attempt to find them homes before their time is up; we post the photos to the Internet here in an effort to circulate them quickly and efficiently; we write as the Phoenix Dog Rescue Examiner for Examiner.com; we try to spread the word about all homeless animals not just in Phoenix, but state-wide throughout Arizona; we disseminate information on free Rabies vaccinations and free spay and neuter information; when we have a little extra, we donate to rescue organizations in the community or to the county shelter itself; and we foster for organizations.  We are also behind myfosterpet.com, a place where foster parents of pets can showcase their foster, because letting a foster pet go is hard, but it's even harder to find it just the right home.
